The Executive Director, Challenged Parenthood Initiative, Ms. Eunice Agbogun has called for an investigation into Sexual Base Violence perpetrated against one Lami in Onyakoji-Abocho in Dekina LGA of Kogi State.
In a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja on Wednesday, Agbogu described the sexual based violence on one Lami by some unknown youths in Onyakoji-Abocho Community as a criminal acts and Violence Against Persons Prohibition LAW that is in place in the Country.
She said the abominable act happening in Abocho Area of the state must be curbed immediately stressing that the Community Leaders must fish out the perpetrators of such act to serve as deterrent to others
Ms. Agbogun who vowed to use the present scenario to activate the
fight against Sexual/Gender Based Violence in the State promised to expose forces that are, however, striving to cover the abominable act
Ms. Agbogun called on the Commissioner For Women Affairs and Social Development to ensure that efforts are put in place to stamp out this form of abomination in the land.
The Director who expressed satisfaction that the perpetrators have been arrested in Abocho, allay the fear that some local politicians are trying to get the perpetrators off the hook.
She called for the immediate transfer of the case to Lokoja to avoid interference, calling on the Police to use the present case of Sexual Base Violence against Lami and to use them as a scape goat to serve as deterrent to others in Kogi.
Ms. Agbogun said the Traditional Ruler of the Community has been contacted to ensure the safety of the victim whose life has been threatened.
