25 House Of Assembly Lawmakers-Elect Receives Certificate Of Return In Kogi

The 25 Kogi state house of Assembly members – elect representing their various constituencies from the 21 local government areas in the state today received their certificates of return.

Presenting the certificate to members – elect, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, ( REC) Dr. Gabriel Longpet Hale on Thursday in Lokoja charged incoming Lawmakers to Kogi state house of Assembly to be committed to their electioneering promises to enhance even development.

The commissioner gave the charge at the presentation ceremony held at the Kogi state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), Lokoja.

He stressed the need for incoming Lawmakers to stride towards addressing the needs and demands of their various communities as the electorates needs members that could change the narrative of their communities.

Dr. Hale enjoined members to allow their conducts both in and outside the Assembly to show if their intention to serve and bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots must be accomplished.

The commissioner who congratulated incoming lawmakers for their success at the polls noted that their election to the house should not be seen as Jamboree but should be seen as a challenge to reciprocate the people’s gesture.

He further disclosed that from the process to the declaration of results, the INEC provided a level playing field for all aspirants and commended all security agents for their efforts towards a successful elections in the state.

Responding on behalf of the members – elect, Hon. Enema Paul from Okura constituency thanked their electorates for finding them worthy to represent them at the house and prayed God to give them
the enablement to pay back.

In a closing remarks, the HOD, Voters Education and publicity who was represented by the Public Relations Officer of the commission, Sharon Iko-ojo Musa enjoined members to ensure gender inclusive to have a peaceful society.
