TUC urges FG to reduce the cost of governance as a measure to save money.

The TUC President, Festus Osifo, gave the advice while speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday.

TUC calls on the FG to decrease the cost of governance, emphasizing that such measures would enable money-saving. The TUC President also highlights the importance of utilizing funds saved from the removal of petrol subsidy to provide support for vulnerable Nigerians.
TUC emphasizes that a portion of the funds saved from the removal of subsidy should be allocated to support vulnerable Nigerians. Additionally, TUC urges the government to proactively explore revenue-generating opportunities. The current exchange rate provides an advantage in terms of increased naira revenue from the sale of crude oil, prompting the government to be creative, innovative, and strategically focus on growing the country’s revenue.Highlighting the government’s campaign promise of increasing revenue generation and fostering national growth, the TUC president emphasized that it is the administration’s responsibility to strategize and ensure the fulfillment of these commitments. Expressing optimism, he stated that the labor union would not compromise on their demands to the FG, acknowledging that complete fulfillment may not be feasible but reiterating their minimum expectations.

Furthermore, he confirmed that negotiations between the labor union and the FG would resume on June 26 and continue in a constructive manner.
