Eid-El-Kabir: Perm Sec enjoins Muslims to uphold values of compassion

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

In a message to felicitate the Eid-el-kabir with Muslim faithfuls in the FCT, the Territory, the Permanent Secretary of FCDA, Mr. Olusade Adesola has enjoined residents to uphold the values of compassion as depicted in the festival of sacrifice.

Adesola said, ”  On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), it is my privilege to convey my sincere prayers and well wishes to residents of the FCT, especially the Muslim Ummah on the celebration of Eid-el-kabir.”

According to him, the celebration known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Eid-el-Kabir holds great significance as it teaches  the values of selflessness, compassion, and the importance of sharing our blessings with those in need.

He enjoins Muslims and the residents to come together as a community to express gratitude for the countless blessings bestowed upon everyone.

‘As residents of the Federal Capital Territory, we are fortunate to live in a diverse and harmonious society, where people from various backgrounds and cultures coexist in harmony. Our unity in diversity is a testament to our collective strength and resilience.’

”  I urge each one of you to embrace the true spirit of Eid-el-Kabir by extending kindness and generosity to fellow residents. Let us reach out to the less fortunate, ensuring that no one is left behind. Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of those who are in need, bringing joy and happiness to their hearts.”

” Let us also use the opportunity provided by this festival to pray for our country Nigeria and our leaders at all levels of government. Let us pray for peace and the economic prosperity of all our people.”

”  As residents of the FCT, let us be reminded that we have an obligation to keep alive the dreams of the founding fathers of the Territory as a symbol of Nigeria’s unity and strength. Let us play up those values that tend to unite us and shun those that encourage disunity and division.”

” As we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, let us renew our hope and commitment to building a stronger, more vibrant FCT, where every resident can thrive and prosper.”

Furthermore, he reminded everyone to observe the necessary  public health and security  protocols while celebrating this joyous occasion especially as they pertain to environmental sanitation and traffic regulations.

We should also imbibe the mantra of saying something when we observe anything untoward or suspicious.

Once again, I wish you all a blessed and joyful Eid-el-Kabir. May this auspicious occasion bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to all our lives.
