The Akwa Ibom House of Assembly on Thursday received a list of Commissioners and Special Adviser from the Governor Umo Eno with all commissioners who served till the exit of Emmanuel been retained.
The list would bring to end weeks of tension, lobbying and horse trading by political stakeholders and appointment seekers over inclusion of their names and that of their preffered persons with the Governor last week pleading with lobbyists to allow him do his work.
The letter, addressed to House Speaker Mr Udeme Otong was read at the floor of the house during plenary.
“In line with section 192 (2) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I forward the underlisted names of nominees for appointment to the office of the Commissioners and Special Adviser for confirmation by the State House of Assembly”.
The names of the commissioners includes Uko Udom, SAN, Monday Uko, Linus Nkan,Bob Emem,
Capt. Iniobong Ekong,Dr Bassey Okon, Charles Udoh,Orman Esin,
Dr Offiong Offor, Engr. Camillus Umoh, Uno Uno, Raphael Bassey and Aniefiok Nkom.
Others include Prof. Eno Ibanga, Frank Archibong,Prof. Vincent Umoh,Dr. Ini Adiakpan,Idongesit Etiebiet,Comrde Ini Ememobong,
Dr. Imo Moffat,Enobong Mbobo,
John Etim,Gen. Koko Essien (rtd.) and Amanam Nkanga as Special Adviser.
The list was however referred to the House Committee on Judiciary, Justice, Human Rights and Pubic Petitions for further legislative action.
The retention of the commissioners would not however come as a surprise to many as the Governor had last month indicated that the bulk of his appointees would be made up of people who toiled with him during the electioneering campaigns.
