NYSC Kogi Bids Farewell to Oshungbohun, Welcomes New Coordinator Chris-Moneke

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kogi State has honoured outgoing State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Oshungbohun, following his retirement after 33 years of service, and welcomed Mrs. Chika Touchi Chris-Moneke as his successor. At a send-off ceremony in Lokoja, Oshungbohun formally handed over leadership to Chris-Moneke, marking a transition in the state’s NYSC administration.

Reflecting on his career, Oshungbohun said he began service in 1992 and expressed gratitude for a fulfilling journey. He urged corps members to prioritise service and commitment, noting that their contributions remain his most enduring legacy. He also commended NYSC staff for their support and encouraged continued mentorship of corps members to strengthen national development.

The new State Coordinator, Chris-Moneke, thanked staff for the warm reception and pledged to prioritise the welfare of corps members and personnel. She also called for sustained collaboration with the Kogi State Government to enhance the scheme’s impact.

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Monday Anyebe, praised Oshungbohun’s leadership and contributions to the scheme.Staff of the NYSC in the state described the retiring coordinator as dedicated and approachable, highlighting his commitment to service and leadership.
