“Tinubu Mobilizes $500M

 

During the UN Food Systems Summit in Rome, Italy, Vice President Kashim Shettima revealed a significant milestone for Nigeria’s food systems transformation. With admirable commitment, Nigeria successfully mobilized over half a billion dollars for this innovative and sustainable initiative.

The funds were raised through diverse sources, including domestic resources, multilateral development banks, international financial institutions, climate funds, and key agro-businesses.

The allocated $500 million will be strategically utilized to fuel food system transformation across Nigeria. Key areas of focus include innovation finance, the development of Nigeria’s agro value chain, and the establishment of Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones.
