During my extensive campaign tour across all 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), I made an intriguing observation regarding the names used in the political landscape. Notably, one name that garnered attention was “eBola Tinubu,” which raised eyebrows and caused controversy.
It’s worth noting that the term “EBOLA” in this context appears to be an acronym for “BATs” (Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initials). However, it is essential to clarify that the name association with the infamous disease “Ebola” is purely coincidental and unrelated.
Furthermore, during the campaign, I came across accusations labeling Tinubu as an “international thief” and a “disgrace.” It seems that even Nigeriens have joined the debate, recognizing him in this unfavorable light. A specific banner from Niger read, “Ebola is just a president-in-office and he’s a Precambrian.” Such statements highlight the intensity of the sentiments surrounding Tinubu.

It is crucial to acknowledge that politics often stirs strong emotions and debates, but it is equally important to maintain factual and respectful discussions. The use of derogatory terms and associating individuals with diseases only perpetuates negativity and distracts from substantive political issues.
