Benue State Community and Social Development Agency, CSDA, is to access intervention funds from the World Bank to implement community projects.
General Manager of the agency, Engr James Aboho who gave this indication in an interview with Day Break in Makurdi, maintained that CSDA has implemented projects in supporting the community members through Basic Services and Labor Intensive Public Works.
” We have been implementing our projects in supporting the community members in Basic Services, we have been supporting other members in Labor Intensive Public Works where beneficiaries are able to get N10,000 each monthly.
During the first Independent verification, we couldn’t utilized the money we got from World Bank, which was over a billion naira and because we had deficit, they couldn’t give us additional funds, but this second independent verification, we had just finished, they were happy that the current administration in the state has given us counterpart funds of one hundred million naira.”
According to the General Manager, the CSDA has implemented over 300 micro projects in the twenty three local government areas of the state, adding that under Labor Intensive Public Works, the agency has implemented in nine local governments.
“CSDA was established in 2009 by the Benue State House of Assembly and became an agency to assist the Government of Benue State to be able to support community members to implement their projects, getting the resources from the World Bank, State Government and the Local Governments.”
Engr Aboho expressed gratitude to Governor Hyacinth Alia over his unwavering support to ensure that they do their works effectively, stressing that the agency would soon access World bank’s funds, having met the requirements.
His words: ” When he came, within a short period of time, he has given us a hundred million naira to pay to nine hundred and ninety six beneficiaries, and we have paid them for ten months, so is something grateful”, Aboho stated.
