Father Arrested for Allegedly Killing Son and Concealing Body in Pit Toilet

By Daniel Edu

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended Innocent Uko for reportedly killing his 26-year-old son, Boniface, after catching him harvesting cassava on his farm. Uko, a resident of Ebe Ikpe village in the Essien Udim Local Government Area of the state, confessed to using a machete to murder his son. To hide the evidence, he burned the body and disposed of it in an abandoned pit toilet on his property. The incident was reported by the village head and the council chairman.

Police spokesperson SP Odiko Macdon stated that Uko justified his actions by claiming his son had a bad character and subjected him to constant harassment and embarrassment. The burnt body of the deceased has been taken to the morgue, and the suspect is in custody. Additionally, the police arrested Charley John for allegedly stealing two seven-year-old children. John reportedly used his younger brother to lure the victims from their classroom before abducting them. Both suspects will face charges in court after investigations are concluded.
