Unknown Gunmen Kill Two Community Volunteer Guards in Benue State

Three persons have been allegedly shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Findings by Day Break showed that the two Guards were murdered in Ugba town, while the other person, a female was murdered at Abeda-Shitile all in Logo Local Government Area of the state.

It was learned that several other people sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment in some medical facilities. It was further gathered that the attackers reportedly opened fire on the residents of the two communities.

Informed source who confirmed the incident, told our correspondent in a telephone conversation that two Officers of the Community Volunteer Guards and a female were killed by yet to be identified armed men.

This incident is coming on the heel of several other killings and destruction of property worth millions of naira within the Sankera axis, comprising Logo, Katsina-Ala and Ukum Local Government Areas of the state.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards, Mr Terkimbi Ahokegh, confirmed the incident.
