Senate Begins Screening of New Ministerial Nominees

By  Milcah  Tanimu

The Nigerian Senate has initiated the screening process for three newly nominated ministers. The nominees are Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, Ayodele Olawande, and Abbas Balarabe. The Senate suspended its rules to admit the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, Abdullahi Gumel, to present the nominees to the plenary. While Dr. Jamila Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande were nominated as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths, respectively, Abbas Balarabe’s portfolio is yet to be known. President Bola Tinubu had earlier nominated these ministers, and their confirmation will be determined through the Senate’s screening process.
