Minister Lalong’s Peaceful Path to Industrial Harmony

Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Bako Lalong, has revealed that his experiences in peace building and conflict management have been instrumental in fostering industrial harmony, a crucial element for delivering President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He shared these insights during a thanksgiving service held by the Izere Nation to honor the immediate past Secretary to Plateau State Government, Prof. Danladi Abok Atu, at St. Paul’s Catholic Pastoral Area in Lamingo Gwafan, Jos North Local Government.

Minister Lalong emphasized the significance of confidence and trust-building in achieving governance success, particularly in addressing agitations, grievances, and differences. He commended President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to developing Nigeria and ensuring the optimal performance of workers in both the public and private sectors, as demonstrated in the swift resolution of a recent planned labor strike through dialogue.

Expressing gratitude to Prof. Danladi Abok Atu, Lalong recognized his hard work and contributions to implementing the Rescue Agenda during his tenure as Governor. He pledged his commitment to advancing Plateau State’s interests in the Federal Government, striving to attract programs and projects across various domains.

Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Ishaya Audu, praised Prof. Atu’s visionary leadership and collaboration with experienced individuals like Danladi Abok Atu for the betterment of the people. He urged Lalong to advocate for critical issues such as infrastructure, education, security, and other entitlements of Plateau State in his capacity as a member of the Federal Executive Council.

In his homily, Msgnr Prof. Cletus Gotan stressed the importance of serving the people with dedication and the fear of God in public office. He noted the extensive attendance at the event as a testament to Prof. Atu’s effective service.

The paramount ruler of the Izere Nation, Adagwom Izere Dr. Isaac Wakili, highlighted Prof. Atu’s contributions to the Chiefdom’s development and his commitment to integrity.

Prof. Danladi Abok Atu, the celebrant, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the public over the years and praised Minister Lalong for his qualities of peace, competence, compassion, and integrity. He committed to upholding the trust placed in him and encouraged former appointees to collaborate and build strong political structures for effective service.

The event drew dignitaries from within and outside the state, including Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Minister Designate and former Secretary to Kaduna State Government. Minister Lalong later hosted some of his former appointees at his residence, including commissioners, heads of boards and parastatals, and members of the House of Assembly.
