By Milcah Tanimu

Nigerian music sensation Joeboy has just dropped his latest single, ‘Only God Can Save Me,’ and has also excitingly revealed the forthcoming release of his sophomore EP titled ‘Body, Soul & Spirit.’ The EP is set to debut on November 17 via emPawa Africa.

Following his successful ‘Body & Soul’ album, the ‘Body, Soul & Spirit’ EP is a fitting continuation of Joeboy’s musical journey, offering a different perspective from his recent album.

The lead single, ‘Only God Can Save Me,’ is a heartfelt track produced by Debo.x that reflects the age-old adage, ‘Let go and let God.’ In the song, Joeboy delves deep into the realization that human relationships are not always reliable and can leave us feeling disappointed. When faced with absence and uncertainty in his life, Joeboy turned to a higher power for comfort and guidance, emphasizing that sometimes, ‘Only God Can Save Me.’

This song stems from Joeboy’s raw vulnerability and portrays his understanding of the impermanent nature of human connections and the importance of divine intervention in moments of despair.

‘Only God Can Save Me’ sets the thematic tone for the ‘Body, Soul & Spirit’ EP with its moody yet poignant sound. The song was crafted during a period of solitude, with Joeboy alone with his thoughts, a microphone, and a pen, adding an authentic and evocative layer to the music.

Through this single, Joeboy shares his personal journey through an emotionally charged phase, providing a glimpse into the narrative of the entire EP. Fans can look forward to more of Joeboy’s introspection and emotional depth when ‘Body, Soul & Spirit’ is released on November 17.
