Burna Boy’s Achieves Diamond Certification in France

By Milcah Tanimu

In a remarkable achievement, Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has received a Diamond certification for his hit song ‘Last Last’ from the French music certification body SNEP. This recognition comes after the single amassed an impressive 50 million streams in France.

‘Last Last’ was released in 2022 as one of the leading tracks from Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated sixth album, ‘Love, Damini.’ The song, which delves into the theme of heartbreak, stands out for its exceptional production, incorporating elements from Toni Braxton’s ‘Not Man Enough,’ its infectious melody, and its use of Nigerian colloquialism.

The single also earned a Grammy nomination in the World Music category and performed strongly on various music charts, including in France, where it reached the 23rd position.

This achievement follows Burna Boy’s previous successes in France, where ‘Gbona’ recently earned a Platinum certification, and ‘Alone’ received a Gold plaque. Burna Boy continues to play a significant role in promoting African music on the global stage.

It’s worth noting that ‘Last Last’ has also earned certifications in other countries, including Platinum in the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia, and 2X Platinum in Canada.
