Speaker Abbas felicitates Emir of Zazzau on conferment of honorary doctorate degree

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has congratulated the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on the conferment of a Doctorate Degree in Public Affairs (Honoris Causa) on him by the Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State on Saturday.

Speaker Abbas, who represents Zaria Federal Constituency in Kaduna State at the House, described Emir Bamalli’s honorary degree as well-deserved, saying the monarch has contributed immensely to the affairs of not just Zazzau Emirate and Kaduna State, but also the entire country.

The Speaker, who is a prince in the Zazzau Emirate and holds the traditional title of Iyan Zazzau, said it was not surprising that Emir Bamalli is being honoured by a university in Delta State, noting that the honour further confirms the elder statesmanship status of the Emir.

Speaker Abbas, while commending the Western Delta University for honouring the Emir of Zazzau, said the honour would encourage him to further unite Nigerians across ethnic and religious lines.

The Speaker noted that the honour being bestowed on the Emir signifies reward for patriotism and good leadership as well as pursuit of peace and unity in the country.

The Speaker wished Emir Bamalli well even as he encouraged him to continue playing the fatherly role he has been playing among his people and beyond.
