Indian Airport Authorities Arrest Nigerian Woman with Cocaine Worth N75m

Indian customs officials at the international airport apprehended a Nigerian woman for allegedly smuggling cocaine valued at ₹82 crore (N75 million) into the country. The arrest took place on Tuesday when the accused arrived from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Customs at the IGI Airport made the arrest based on specific intelligence. The officials intercepted the Nigerian passenger and conducted an extensive inspection of her luggage. Inside two blue trolley bags, they discovered concealed material. Further examination revealed approximately 5.8 kg of a white powdery substance suspected to be narcotics.

A diagnostic test indicated that the substance likely contains a commercial quantity of cocaine, with an international value of ₹82.446 crore {N75 million}. The customs authorities seized the drug under the NDPS Act, 1985, and investigations are ongoing.
