Kaduna Bye Election: PDP, APC in close ranks in 3 U/Boro poling units

Despite the poor turnout of voters, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led in three poling units in Ugwan Boro in Sabin Tasha, chikun LGA of Kaduna state, in the Saturday Kaduna Southern Constituency bye election.

The All Progressive Congress (APC), which also led in some other poling units, is in close rank with PDP. In the elections many described as comparative and tough in terms of voter ties.

The poling stations where PDP led includes Ugwan Boro LGEA units EC 32, 30 and Foresight model school unit EC 30, visited, respectively, while poling unit around traditional leader of U/ boro was reportedly won by APC.

While PDP polled 44 votes at Foresight model school polling unit EC 30A, APC, LP, ADC and SDP got 13, 12, 2 and 1 respectively.

Our correspondent who monitored the elections in the areas described the conduct of the exercise as peaceful exception of units where there were slight disagreement over non display of voters register before accreditation for lack of liquid gum.

Speaking to newsmen at election venue, Zagbayi Sariki Bawa, the village head of U/Boro acknowledged challenges of poor turnout of voters he attributed to voter apathy, saying they’ve been going round to encourage the residents to come our and cast their votes.

According to him residents complaints their votes doesn’t count, but appealed to them not to be discouraged as God may use this election for the good of the people.

Most residents interviewed also said that PDP is leading in most poling unit followed closely by APC in the bye election for state assembly, Chikun constituency, Kaduna.
