PDP’s Musa Mahmud Emerges Winner in Adamawa Bye-Election

usa Mahmud (Kallamu), a commissioner in Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s cabinet, has been declared the winner of the Mayo-below state constituency bye-election in Adamawa State. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Musa Mahmud, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, secured victory after a court-ordered rerun in seven polling units. The initial election had seen Kallamu lose narrowly to Ibrahim Italiya of the All Progressive Congress (APC) by a margin of 72 votes. In the rerun, Kallamu polled 1306 votes to defeat Italiya, who garnered 874 votes. The total votes cast were 2252, confirming Kallamu as the duly elected legislator.
