The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has called for direct fund deposits into the accounts of Nigerians to ensure transparency and accountability in addressing economic hardship. COSEYL emphasized that to genuinely alleviate hunger, the Federal Government should bypass governors, lawmakers, and politicians. This statement comes in response to concerns about the potential embezzlement of the allocated N30 billion to state governors for addressing hardship. COSEYL expressed skepticism about previous allocations, stating that funds and palliatives did not reach the intended beneficiaries but ended up in the private pockets of governors. The coalition urged the government to send money directly to the people for transparency and accountability.
