A suspected human trafficker identified as Bulus Danladi, residing in Ankwa area of Katari, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been apprehended by operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command.
The arrest, confirmed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, was made following a complaint filed by Mrs. Jummai Danjuma of Katari.
According to ASP Hassan, the suspect allegedly trafficked five children from Katari to Eruku in Kwara State to engage in labor at a factory. However, upon arrival in Eruku, the suspect abandoned the children and returned to Katari.
Out of the five trafficked children, three have since returned, while efforts are underway to locate the remaining two.
Providing details of the incident, Hassan stated, “On March 1, at about 0900hrs, a complaint was lodged by Mrs. Jummai Danjuma and two others in the Katari area in Kachia Local Government Area of the state.”
He added, “On February 27, the arrested suspect, Bulus Danladi of Ankwa area in Kachia LGA, trafficked five youths from Katari to Eruku in Kwara with intent to work in a factory. On reaching there, the suspect carried the youths to a farm in Eruku where he abandoned them and returned to Katari.”
The suspect will face legal proceedings following the completion of the investigation.
