Nigeria Mourns Victims of Moscow Terrorist Attack

Nigeria expressed its condolences to the people and Government of the Russian Federation following a terrorist attack at a concert in Crocus City Hall near Moscow on Friday.

Gunmen, clad in camouflage attire, indiscriminately opened fire at attendees, resulting in a tragic loss of lives, including children. The death toll from the attack has reached 115, according to Al Jazeera.

Reports from various Russian media outlets indicated that the assailants used automatic weapons, marking one of the deadliest attacks in Russia in recent years.

In response to the tragedy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, issued a statement conveying Nigeria’s sympathy and condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the people and Government of the Russian Federation for the tragic attack at the Crocus Concert Hall in Moscow, which claimed the lives of innocent individuals and left over a hundred others injured.

“The Government and people of Nigeria grieve with the victims of this devastating attack and pray for the souls of the departed. We also pray for the swift recovery of the injured.

“During this difficult period, we stand in solidarity with the Russian Federation and convey our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to President Vladimir Putin,” he expressed.
