Warri Wolves FC emerges champion of 2024 Delta Federation trophy by 2-0

Warri Wolves Football Club have defeated Delta Marines Football Club by two goals to zero to emerge winners of 2024 Delta State Federation Cup Finals held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba weekend.

Warri Wolves FC had missed several scoring chances as they had more possession of the ball before the eventual goals’ score.

The Male category Champion; Warri Wolves were presented with a trophy and a cheque of N500,000 while Delta Marines Football Club went home with a consolation prize of N300,000 cheque to emerge the runners up position.

In the female category, Delta Queens FC of Asaba thrashed Warri Babes FC with five goals to nil amidst sports fans who thronged the Stephen Keshi Stadium despite the Easter celebration.

Trophy was presented to Delta Queens with a cheque of N300,000 while the runners up team, Delta Babes of Warri FC got N200, 000.

Also, medals were presented to all the players and officials that featured in the finals of the male and female categories.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Delta State Football Association, Chief Kenneth Nwamuocha, has commended the players and the officials for displaying good sportsmanship during this year’s state FA Cup playoffs.

He expressed gratitude to sponsors such as Uche-Peg Enterprise, Rock of All Ages Group of Schools, and Joeprecious Enterprises for their unwavering support and trust in the Delta FA.

Nwamuocha expressed deep gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering commitment to sports development.

This football competition not only showcases the passion for football in the region but also symbolises a collaborative effort between the DFA, the private sector, and the Delta State Government.

Through strategic partnerships and sponsorships, the DFA has been able to enhance the quality of the tournament, offering better incentives for participating teams and elevating the overall experience for fans.

This collaborative approach not only benefits the state footballing fraternity but also contributes to the socioeconomic development of Delta State.

The involvement of the private sector brings additional resources and expertise to the table, enabling the DFA to organise a world-class event that resonates with both local and international audiences.
