At least two individuals were feared to have drowned on Wednesday when the bus they were traveling in lost control and collided with the rail of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The accident involved an LT 18-seater bus with registration number FKJ 872 YA, as reported by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
According to reports, the crash occurred near the Adeniyi Adele axis, heading towards Lagos Island.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for the South-West region, stated that the vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it veered off the road and struck the bridge rails, causing two passengers to be ejected from the vehicle and into the lagoon.
Meanwhile, the Marine Police have initiated a search operation for the two victims, identified as an adult male and female.
Farinloye further mentioned that the other injured passengers have been promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.
