NWFL 2024: Super six kicks-off in Yenagoa

Week-long Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six play-off round will on Saturday kick-off in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The tournament begins with Confluence Queens taking on Edo Queens at 10.00 am in the morning while Nasarawa Amazon tackle Heartland Queens at 12 noon.

Bayelsa Queens will be out for their opener by 2.00pm at Samson Siasia Stadium against Rivers Angels on Day 1 .

The draws for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super 6 competition were on Thursday evening concluded at the Golden Tulip Hotel Yenagoa , the six participating teams were matched against their opponents.

Host, Bayelsa Queens in the second game of the tournament will face Nasarawa Amazon by 10am on the 20th of May, Edo Queens will trade tackle with Rivers Angels as Heartland Queens welcomes Confluence Queens by 2pm at the Samson Siasia Stadium.

Nasarawa Amazon and Rivers Angels will have the luxury to test their superiority on day three of the super six when they face each other, Confluence Queens in the other fixture will keep a date with former champions Bayelsa Queens as Heartland Queens welcomes Edo Queens.

Coach Domo Okara tutored Bayelsa Queens in match day four to square up with Heartland Queens of Owerri, Jewels of Rivers will entertain Confluence Queens while Edo Queens and Nasarawa Amazon will go toe to toe against each other on the 24th of May at 2pm.

The final round of matches for the tournament will see Confluence Queens battle Nasarawa Amazon, Heartland Queens will lock horns with Rivers Queens, 2021 Aiteo Cup champions will welcome Edo Queens in the battle of Queens.

In Group A, Nasarawa Amazons finished as group winners with 27 points from 14 matches, followed by Confluence Queens in second with 25 points and Heartland Queens in third with 24 points.

Rivers Angels finished top of Group B with 27 points, four ahead of Edo Queens in second and Bayelsa Queens in third with 22 points from 14 games.

The NWFL super six will begin from the 18th to 26th of May, 2024

The title winner of this year’s Super Six tournament will represent the country in the WAFU-B qualifiers to qualify for the 4th CAF Women’s Champions League
