60-year-old man, 3 others rape 9-year-old girl

By Jennifer Y Omiloli

Sixty-year-old man Usman Ibrahim and three others have been arrested for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl in Niger state’s Paikoro Local Government Area.

Usman, a man with five grandchildren, and the other suspects, Zakari Aliyu, 25; Mustapha Isah, 17; and Imurana Aliyu, I6, were arrested by a group of police officers attached to the Paiko Division.

This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the command, Muhammad Abubakar, in a statement, Abubakar said the perpetrators usually lured the victim with N20 or N50 and then rape her.

They were charged after the victim’s mother spotted one of the suspects in the act and the police arrested him.

The victim told her mother about the other men who also raped her after giving her N20 or N50 when she was interrogated.

The spokesperson for the police said the suspects will be arraigned in court once the investigations are completed.
