House of Assembly candidate promises dividends of democracy

Candidate for the Enugu State House of Assembly for the 2019 polls under the umbrella of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Chief Emmanuel Okeke, has promised to provide his people with the dividends of democracy and to a large extent use his connection abroad to attract foreign investment to the state.

Okeke who is vying to represent Awgu South Constituency, disclosed in an interview that his people will not regret voting for him because he would provide them with the needed democracy dividends such as roads, employment and other infrastructure when voted into office.

The South Africa based businessman said that he would use his foreign connections to attract foreign investments to the state.

“When I am voted, my people will get the dividends of democracy; they will get everything that has to do with democracy. They will have their share from the state government. In addition, I’ll use my connections to attract foreign investments that will even make the state government better,” Chief Okeke promises.

He lamented that the people of his constituency have never had a good representation in the house of assembly and promised to do things differently.

“A lot of things are going wrong. When our people vote people into office, after voting for them, those that they voted will never remember them. Everybody must be allowed to have a say, to say what they want and this is what I want to go there to redress,” he laments.

He also lamented that his people had been used in the past and dumped by their supposed representatives, saying that given the opportunity, he will fix things and his people would be happy.

“My people are used and dumped. I am not just getting the position, my motivation is to get the position so that my people will be happy and prosper,” he said.
