Elderly Ogun Woman Demands Relief from Economic Hardship in Protest

By   Milcah   Tanimu

During the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest in Sango, Ogun State, an elderly woman has voiced her frustration with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing severe economic hardship and high unemployment rates.

In a video that has gained widespread attention, the woman expressed her dismay over the dire conditions faced by herself and her family, revealing that they are forced to beg for alms to make ends meet. She criticized the current government for failing to address the rising costs of essential food items and the lack of job opportunities for the youth.

Speaking from the protest ground, she said, “I traveled from Owode to join this protest. Is it right that elderly people like me must beg for alms to survive? My children and I are starving. There are no jobs for the youth, and the roads are in poor condition.”

The woman called for divine intervention, stating, “Deliver us from this government. Deliver us from Tinubu. He is not fulfilling his promises, and we are suffering. The prices of rice and garri are too high.”

Her remarks reflect the growing discontent among citizens regarding economic difficulties and the perceived failures of the current administration.
