Hunger protest: Christian dominated areas fault curfew in Kaduna

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Tongues are wagging over the implementation of the 24hour curfew in communities where there were no end bad governance protest in Christian dominated areas of Kaduna state.

Governor Uba Sani led Kaduna State Security Council, had on Monday announced imposition of 24 hour curfew in Kaduna and Zaria metropolis following the end bad governance violent protests.

The implementation is badly affecting general economic wellbeing of citizenry across the state including communities that shun the protest since its inception for political and religious reasons.

In particular, the curfew is severely being implemented in Sabon Tasha, Romi, Gonin Gora, Narayi Christian dominated areas and its environment where no hunger protest took place since 1st August.

Our correspondent who monitor the development reported that security have barricaded Major roads in the areas, preventing everybody from going about their legitimate business.

All business premises were shutdown in those areas and movement highly restricted due to the curfew, hitting hard the people who did not partake in protest.

Shop owners complained bitterly for paying the prize of what they had nothing to do with, appealing to the state governor to do the heedful immediately, adding that it was wrong to impose curfew on Kaduna South.

*We in Sabon Tasha and environments did not protest for one day since this protest stated but we are here suffering from curfew brought as a result of the violent and looting from the protest. It is no normal

*The whole of Kaduna South axis, like Sabo, television, Romi, gonin Gora, Narayi count them, did not participate in the protest”, said a man bearing Uzor, whose is a dealer in tyre business in Sabon Tasha.
