Asake Launches ‘Lungu Boy’ Tour with Sold-Out Washington DC Show

By Award-winning artist Asake has officially begun his ‘Lungu Boy’ tour with a high-energy, sold-out performance at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on August 16, 2024.

The concert featured a mix of Asake’s chart-topping singles, including tracks from his latest album, *Lungu Boy*. The tour will see Asake headlining major venues across six U.S. cities, including the Toyota Center in Houston, State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and Madison Square Garden in New York.

The *Lungu Boy* album, which boasts collaborations with notable artists such as Grammy winner Wizkid, British rappers Central Cee and Stormzy, American star Travis Scott, and Brazilian singer Ludmilla, has already made waves. It achieved a record-breaking 18.9 million streams in its debut week on Spotify Nigeria, surpassing the previous record of 14.4 million held by Davido’s *Timeless*.

Additionally, *Lungu Boy* set a new global streaming record for a Nigerian album on Spotify with 9.2 million streams on its first day. The album’s track “MMS” also set a new record on Spotify Nigeria with 870,577 streams on its debut day, surpassing the previous record of 626,000 streams held by Wizkid’s “IDK” featuring Zlatan.
