Two herders were killed and several cows and sheep were stolen after bandits attacked a herders’ camp in Kurutu village, Kachia Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State. The attack occurred on Sunday around 5 p.m., according to Shehu Aliyu, a resident of the nearby village of Azzara.

The herders reportedly attempted to resist the bandits’ attempt to steal their animals, leading to their deaths. A community leader, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed the casualties and the theft of livestock.

The Kaduna State Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Hassan Mansur, was unavailable for comment on the incident.
