By   Milcah   Tanimu

The recent flood in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has had a severe impact. It killed two children, destroyed farmlands, and displaced hundreds of residents. Heavy rainfall triggered this devastating flood.

Christy Usman, the Vice Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, reported the flood’s damage. The Kaduna State Flood Assessment Committee, led by Chief of Staff Sani Kila, has visited the area to assess the flood’s impact.

Kila advised residents to avoid building near waterways and to stop dumping refuse into drainage systems. These measures can help reduce future flooding. Learn more about flood prevention strategies here.
