Akwa Ibom gov Umo Eno loses wife

Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has passed away. The news of her death was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement released early Friday.

The First Lady passed on September 26, 2024, at a hospital, surrounded by her family. The statement, titled “Unexpected Sunset,” expressed deep sorrow over her passing after an illness.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital on 26th September 2024, in the presence of her family,” the statement read.

The family has requested privacy during this difficult time and has asked for prayers and support. Governor Umo Eno expressed gratitude for the support received and reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that, despite this personal loss, his commitment to serving the state remains steadfast.
