Plateau LGA Polls: Middle Belt Nationalities Endorse PDP Candidates

By Israel Adamu, Jos

With just 48 hours before the local government elections in Plateau State, the Coalition of the Cultural Middle-Belt Political Forum has endorsed 17 chairmanship and 325 councillorship candidates from the People Democratic Party (PDP).

The forum expressed its support based on the achievements of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration in its first year. During a press conference on Monday at the NUJ Secretariat in Jos, Prince Ibrahim David, Chairman of the forum’s Plateau State chapter, stated, “After careful consideration and consultations with stakeholders, we wholeheartedly endorse all PDP chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the October 9th Local Government Election in Plateau State.”

David emphasized that the endorsement stems from Governor Mutfwang’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development. He noted, “His administration’s dedication to empowering local communities resonates deeply with our values.”

He continued, “Within just over a year in office, Plateau has experienced significant grassroots development through Governor Mutfwang’s initiatives. He has shown a genuine focus on local needs and empowerment, aligning with our desire for community-driven progress.”

Additionally, David praised the Governor’s inclusive governance, which ensures that various nationalities of the Middle-Belt have a voice in his administration. “The Governor’s economic strategies prioritize job creation, infrastructure development, and sustainable progress—essential elements for our region’s prosperity,” he added.

David reiterated, “We have witnessed improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare services, and empowerment programs for youth and women. The promotion of agriculture and entrepreneurship, along with a focus on security and citizen welfare, are also commendable.”

In conclusion, he stated, “This endorsement marks a significant milestone in our journey toward a better Plateau State. We are confident that these candidates will champion the interests of our communities and work tirelessly to address local challenges.”
