Investors converge at Abuja Business Summit to collaborate on economic development

There was a convergence of Investors from far and near at the Abuja Business and Investment Summit
to discuss ways of promoting ways collaboration on investments opportunities in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike who declared open the maiden of Abuja Business and Investment Summit 2024 on Wednesday said that it is a forum for investors in Abuja and worldwide to increase collaboration for an enhanced economic growth, cultural exchange, and sustainable development.

The Abuja Business and Investment Summit 2024 was organized by the Abuja Investment Company Limited, AICL, in the nation’s capital.

While describing the opportunistic nature of the business event, Wike said,” Our unique position, strategic location and a growing population is a fertile ground for investment across various sectors including real estate, technology. Agriculture, healthcare, tourism, construction mining and renewable energy.”

The minister stressed that Investment Summit is also a platform to showcase stakeholders and potential investors in Nigeria and worldwide the investment opportunities that abound in the FCT.

He commended the Group Managing Director of Abuja Investment Company Limited, Amb. Maureen Tamuno for organizing the summit, which he said exemplifies the Administration’s commitment to fostering an investment-friendly environment in the nation’s capital.

The theme, “Optimising Investments Through Partnership,” resonates deeply with our vision for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as a thriving hub for business and innovation”, Wike noted.

He, however, emphasized that when both local and foreign investors forge strong partnerships, “we not only pool resources but also leverage diverse expertise and insights that drive innovation and efficiency.”

Abuja is not just the political capital of Nigeria; it is a place of opportunities waiting to be harnessed, he noted.
The Chief Managing Director of Abuja Investments Company, Amb. Tamuno in her opening speech said that the Summit is aimed at promoting investment opportunities in FCT as well as creating a platform for networking among investors from within Nigeria and beyond.

Together, we can optimise our investments and drive the impactful change that our organizations and countries need for economic prosperity, she said.
