Bobrisky Denies Defaming Falz and Falana; Points Finger at VDM

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Crossdresser Bobrisky has responded to accusations of defaming Nigerian singer Falz and his father, lawyer Femi Falana. After receiving a 24-hour ultimatum to retract his statements, Bobrisky asserted that he did not defame the duo in a viral voice note.

On October 16, 2023, Bobrisky posted on Instagram to clarify his position. He firmly denied making any harmful remarks about Falz or Falana. “In reply to the two letters from the Law Firm of the Falanas, I want to clarify that I, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, aka Bobrisky, did not publish any defamatory statement concerning the learned SAN and his son Falz,” he stated.

Bobrisky emphasized that the true culprit should bear the blame. “It is public knowledge that I have denied any involvement in what VDM published. I stand by my denial and urge anyone claiming defamation to hold the actual publisher accountable. My right to privacy should also be respected.”

In another post, Bobrisky reiterated his position, insisting that he never paid Falz or his father for any kind of pardon. “I did not give Falz or his dad any money. The person who published the audio should take full responsibility for what they posted online. My lawyer will handle any further inquiries regarding this ongoing issue trending on social media,” he wrote.

These statements come amid a legal dispute involving Bobrisky, Falz, Falana, and media personality Verydarkman. Verydarkman released an alleged voice note of Bobrisky that stirred controversy. In the voice note, Bobrisky reportedly claimed he avoided prison time despite a money laundering sentence. He also suggested he had bribed the father and son for leniency.

After the voice note surfaced, Falz and his father’s legal team issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Verydarkman. He failed to comply, so a court fined him ₦500 million and ordered him to retract his defamatory posts.
