FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, after flagging off four consecutive projects has reiterated his administration’s commitment to replicate the dividends good governance in rural communities in Abuja.
Wike made this known on Thursday, at the flag- off of the construction of 1.7 km inner district road, also known as the collector road and engineering facilities connecting Daki Biyu, Utako, Jabi and Wuye districts in Abuja.
The FCT Minister expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support to ensure rural dwellers in the territory also enjoy projects distribution to improve their well-being and standard of living.
He disclosed that his administration will commence the upgrade of Garki Area 1 and other old neighbourhoods in the capital city which require a facelift.
Wike announced that administration will be revisiting the six area councils from next Monday to commence another rounds of construction of people impacting projects.
Executive Director of FCDA, Engineer Shehu Hadi Ahmed, in his overview of the road, said, “It’s about 1.7 kilometers between the two major arterials, and it’s an inter-district road. A collector road consisting of a four lane road linking the old road called arterial road 5.”
The Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to the FCT Minister, Dr. Udo Atang acknowledged the Minister’s recognition of Abuja as the window of Nigeria to the world and the seat of power of government.
Owing to this, Atang stated that the minister has made all efforts to make sure that Abuja realizes his motto of being one of the best 20 capital cities in the world.
