The Sokoto Education Development Trust Fund has successfully trained 151 secondary school girls from across the state to prepare for the upcoming Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. The initiative aims to equip young women with the knowledge and skills needed to excel academically and achieve their higher education goals.

The program was officially inaugurated by the Honorable Commissioner for the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Hon. Mohammad Tukur Alkali, who served as the special guest of honor. In his address, Hon. Alkali reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities for girls, stressing that such initiatives are vital for fostering long-term academic and professional success.

The event was graced by prominent personalities, including the Wazirin Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu, representatives from UNICEF, and other dignitaries who expressed their support for advancing education and promoting gender empowerment in the state.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Trust Fund, Ibrahim Iya, the training aligns with Sokoto State’s broader educational strategies to improve student readiness for higher education.

This program reflects the collaborative efforts of stakeholders to invest in the future of Sokoto’s youth, with a particular focus on empowering girls to break barriers and contribute meaningfully to society.
