Just In: Terrorists Attack Borno Village, Kill Two, Raze Church and Houses

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

In a tragic development, heavily armed terrorists attacked Bwalagang village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, northeast Nigeria. The assault, carried out by suspected members of Boko Haram and ISWAP, occurred around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, leaving two people dead and several properties destroyed.

Attack Details

Eyewitnesses report that the attackers set ablaze a church and numerous houses during the hour-long raid. Sources alleged that one of the deceased victims was a father of eight children.

An indigene and activist, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, confirmed the incident, stating:

“The name of the village is Bwalagang, and the Boko Haram terrorists burned down almost the entire village.”

The church, identified as the EYN Church, was among the structures torched in the attack.

Community Reaction

Many locals refused to disclose details of the attack, citing fears of retaliation. Efforts to contact Chibok community leaders for further comments proved unsuccessful, as one declined to speak due to a lack of authorization.

Rev. Dikwa disclosed that the victims have already been buried by their community members. Photos attached to the report showed extensive damage, including livestock hit by gunfire.

Growing Concerns

This latest incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where attacks, kidnappings, and violence have become recurrent. The raid on Bwalagang adds to the long list of tragedies affecting vulnerable communities in northeast Nigeria.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the attack. Further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
