Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhassan Yahaya, on his victory at the recently concluded triennial delegates’ conference held in Owerri, Imo State.
In a statement, Governor Ododo described Yahaya as a seasoned media professional dedicated to advancing the welfare of journalists, a commitment demonstrated during his tenure as the Deputy National President of the Union.
The Governor praised Yahaya’s inclusive consultation and campaign strategy, which culminated in his emergence as NUJ President, urging him to prioritize an all-inclusive agenda and the welfare of union members during his tenure.
He also lauded the union members for their orderly conduct throughout the electoral process that ushered in the new leadership.
In addition, Governor Ododo extended his congratulations to Alhaji Momoh Jimoh Adeiza, General Manager of Radio Nigeria Prime FM, Lokoja, on his election as NUJ Vice President for Zone D, covering Kogi, Benue, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau states, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Governor commended Adeiza’s contributions to journalism, noting that he has consistently brought honor and recognition to Kogi State.
Governor Ododo wished the newly elected NUJ President, Yahaya, and the entire national executive committee a successful tenure, expressing confidence in their ability to elevate the Union’s profile and enhance its impact.
