Gov Mutfwang hosts Emir of Kano, seeks monarch’s support for peace, unity

Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr.  Caleb Mutfwang has called for collaboration between the traditional and religious leaders to foster peace, unity and national cohesion.
Governor Mutfwang made the call when he received the Emir of Kano, HRH Dr Mohammad Sanusi Lamido Sanusi CON at the Government House in Jos on Thursday.
Represented by his deputy, Hon. Mrs Josephine Piyo , said the Emir’s visit to the state to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, an esteemed Islamic Cleric, and to also advocate for peace, unity and cultivate the ground for solidifying inter-
ethnic and religious harmony was heartwarming.
“Your presence here today inspires us to continue our journey towards a more peaceful and inclusive society. Your visit to Jos will be a catalyst for greater understanding and cooperation among all communities, and may we work together to create a future where peace and harmony are restored.
“As we reflect on the teachings and principles of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, we are reminded of the importance of fostering understanding and respect among different ethnic and religious communities. His legacy serves as a guiding light for us to cultivate a society where diversity is celebrated, and differences are embraced as strengths that enrich our collective experience.
“Together, let us strive to build a world where love and understanding triumph over hatred and division,” he said.

Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Plateau State reads that Governor Mutfwang called on the people of Plateau State irrespective of religion and ethnicity to embrace the spirit of togetherness and understanding, to reach out to one another with compassion and empathy, and to stand united in collaborative efforts to create a society where peace and harmony prevail.
He urged residents to cultivate the spirit of friendship and cooperation, to build a future where all individuals can thrive in mutual respect and acceptance.
Earlier, the Emir in a remark stressed the importance of living in peace with one another irrespective of their religious or ethnic affiliations.
He called on citizens of Plateau State to imbibe peaceful coexistence and religious harmony to enhance development in the state and the country at large.
The Emir commended the government of Plateau State for its efforts in promoting unity and peace among citizens and urged for continued efforts and collaboration to end the killings in the state.
