Oborevwori Denies Defection Rumours, Says He Remains Committed to PDP

By Anne Azuka

The Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Sir Festus Ahon, has dismissed rumours claiming that the Governor plans to defect to another party. He described the allegations as false and fabricated by elements within the opposition in the state.

In a statement issued in Asaba on Monday, Ahon stated that these opposition elements are threatened by the growing support and bridge-building efforts of Governor Oborevwori across political divides.

Ahon emphasized that Governor Oborevwori will continue working closely with the federal government for the benefit of Deltans and the nation as a whole. He further explained that the Governor has no reason to leave the PDP, given his strong acceptance within the party and widespread support from well-meaning Deltans and residents. He reiterated that Oborevwori remains focused on fulfilling the MORE Agenda, which he promised to implement during his election campaign.

Ahon called on Deltans to disregard the circulating rumours, urging them to recognize the claims as the work of mischief-makers and fifth columnists.
