Suleja Tanker Explosion Victims Transferred to Tertiary Hospitals

The Nigerian government has transferred 22 victims of the Suleja fuel tanker explosion to tertiary hospitals in Abuja. This follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive for enhanced care.

Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information, confirmed that 20 patients were admitted to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital. Two others were moved to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi. Each patient was accompanied by a nurse and family members.

Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant to the Minister, issued a statement. He said the Niger State Government thanked the Federal Government for its prompt response. The Federal Ministry of Information will continue monitoring the situation and provide updates.

Earlier, Idris announced the President’s directive during his visit to Suleja, Niger State. He led a high-level delegation, including Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. The delegation assessed the situation and expressed condolences.

The explosion, which occurred at Dikko Junction, caused many casualties. Federal authorities responded swiftly to the incident.
