Tinubu approves reconstruction Dei Dei Market – Keffi road

…Wike lauds Maikalangu’s capacity in AMAC

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The FCT Minister Barr. Nysome Wike has approved the reconstruction of Dei Dei Market road to Keffi.
Wike announced this on Saturday at the commissioning of the ONEX – Saburi road in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.
The FCT Minister said that President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Saburi road to Dei Dei Market to life Camp and Keffi.

He noted that because the AMAC chairman has shown capacity to his people. Therefore his request has been approved for an extension of Saburi – Keffi road.

“Again, because your chairman has shown capacity. It is not every chairman that can come out before his or her people to say, I have done this and that, and nobody said, “No, you didn’t do anything”. Everybody applauding him shows he has shown capacity, and he has made some requests here.”

Wike disclosed that the President has promised that in 2025, every Area Council will have one road constructed, which will be included in the statutory budget.

“I want to assure you, in 2025, of our budget, every area council will have one road project. So, the satellite town coordinator, make sure that this Zaudna to Kagini Road is included in our statutory budget that we are going to present to Mr. President, for him to take to the National Assembly.”

While addressing Saburi indigenes who had come out to show their appreciation, the minister said,” Now, Mr. President has directed this Dei-Dei market road to be reconstructed to Life Camp. So that the market can come back to what it used to be, as an international market.”
“So be assured, in the next one month, we will flag it off and I can assure you, before the end of next year, like this year, we will come back to commission it.”
Meanwhile, the FCT Minister has lauded the AMAC chairman for his capacity to govern the area council.
He said,” Let me thank the Chairman of AMAC and the people of Saburi for mobilizing yourselves to show appreciation for what the president has done in remembering the communities that make up AMAC.

“It will be unfair to us, after seeing that he has shown capacity, and we leave him empty-handed. So Mr. Chairman, because of the support you are having for Mr. President, be reassured that the Zaudna to Kagini Road will be done.”

Wike gave assurance that the present administration has changed the narrative of abandoning projects after flag – off.

“You know the usual thing. They say, “After flag up, what next? It will be an abandoned project every time. ” But I told you ours would not be the same. We will not flag off any project then abandon the project.”

“Things have been bad before now. It is not going to be easy. But with your support, with your patience, we will overcome.”

Just as we are doing roads, so also we are going to renovate our schools to give our children the quality education they deserve, the minister reassured.
