Int’l Women’s Day 2025: Caleb Danladi Foundation Advocates Accelerated Action on Gender Equality

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

As the world marks International Women’s Day 2025 under the theme “Accelerate Action,” the Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF) has reaffirmed its commitment to women’s empowerment by driving swift and decisive steps toward gender equality.

In a statement on Friday, CDF’s CEO, Mr. Caleb Danladi Bako, called for urgent action to bridge gender disparities. The statement, titled “Caleb Danladi Foundation Marks International Women’s Day 2025 with a Call to Accelerate Action on Gender Equality,” emphasized that achieving meaningful progress requires more than just conversations—it demands tangible efforts to uplift women, especially widows and young girls.

Empowering Women Through Economic Independence and Digital Inclusion

Mr. Danladi highlighted the foundation’s longstanding commitment to economic empowerment through various initiatives, including:

  • Widow empowerment schemes
  • Financial support for women entrepreneurs
  • Access to digital literacy programs

He noted that these programs have benefited thousands of women, equipping them with essential skills and resources for sustainable livelihoods. Additionally, the foundation has provided essential materials to widows, ensuring they receive the necessary support to overcome economic challenges.

Expansion Plans: “Tech for Women” and Women Empowerment Grants

In alignment with this year’s theme, Mr. Danladi announced plans to expand CDF’s initiatives, with a renewed focus on digital literacy and technology for women. The foundation will launch:

  • “Tech for Women” Initiative – A program designed to equip women with digital skills, helping them thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
  • Women Empowerment Grants – Financial assistance to support female entrepreneurs, enabling them to scale their businesses and contribute to economic growth.

Advancing Girls’ Education in STEM

Beyond economic empowerment, the foundation remains dedicated to advancing girls’ education, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Mr. Danladi emphasized the urgent need to bridge the gender gap in these fields and pledged to expand mentorship programs, scholarships, and learning opportunities for young girls.

“We cannot afford to wait for change; we must drive it. Empowering women and girls today means securing a more equitable and prosperous future for all.”Mr. Caleb Danladi Bako

A Call to Action

As the world accelerates efforts toward gender equality, the Caleb Danladi Foundation stands at the forefront, ensuring that no woman or girl is left behind.

Through education, financial empowerment, and digital literacy, the foundation continues to champion women’s rights, inspiring lasting change in communities across Nigeria and beyond.
