We have Installed Speed Limit Devices On All Our Vehicles to Reduce Road Accidents, GM Benue Links

Disturbed about reports over constant road accidents, Benue Links Transport Company Nigeria Limited, has installed speed limit devices on all its vehicles to avoid accident while playing the high ways.

The General Manager of the transportation company, Mr Alexander Fanafa, disclosed this at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), house Makurdi while briefing Journalists on his achievements since assumption of duty.

“We have installed speed limit devices on all our vehicles to reduce accidents on our roads. As long as our vehicles are on the roads, we will continue to campaign against over speeding and reckless driving. We constantly issue warning to our drivers against taking alcoholic drinks before driving to avoid accidents.”

According to Mr Fanafa, with the support of Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, the company under his watch has constructed a box culvert and a drainage system to do away with the issue of flooding which had hampered development at the Benue Links Transport company over the years.

The General Manager, pointed out that the transport company has additionally asparted the entire premises and installed solar lights to create a conducive working environment for both staff and passengers. He noted that his administration has introduced a transport policy that is friendly to the people.

“The Governor of Benue State Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, purchased (100) one hundred new buses and donated to Benue Links Transport Company to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal and address the transportation challenges. We immediately slided transport fare by 50 percent. We established an Information Communication Technology (ICT) unit for our staff to be trained, so that online or e-ticketing will commence.”

“We have purchased ten additional buses to enable us operate more effectively. We have revived the company’s moribund filling station, our workshop has been revamped. We have opened all the routes in our local government headquarters. His Excellency is doing a lot of transformation in Benue Links”, he declared.

The General Manager, stressed that the company needs over 200 buses to address the transportation need of Benue citizens. He appreciated the Governor of Benue State for acquiring permanent sites for Benue Links Transport Company at Abuja, Adikpo and Zaki-Biam.

Mr Fanafa lauded Journalists in Benue State, over their objective reportage in covering activities of the company since he took over the affairs of the company and implored them to maintain the tempo.
