Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Denies Viral Audio Alleging Tinubu Blackmail

Suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has firmly denied any involvement in a viral audio and video recording circulating on social media that claims she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of blackmailing President Bola Tinubu into jailing her.

In a personally signed statement issued Wednesday in Abuja, Akpoti-Uduaghan disavowed the recordings, stating categorically that she neither made the comments nor participated in any such conversation.

“I categorically and unequivocally dissociate myself from this video and audio recording,” she said. “At no time did I grant such an interview or hold any such conversation with a journalist or anyone else. The voice in the recording is not mine — it has been cloned and manipulated with clear malicious intent.”

She described the materials as a “deliberate act of misinformation” designed to smear her image and disrupt the leadership of the National Assembly.

According to her, the viral clip is a “dangerous abuse of technology” aimed at misleading the public, damaging reputations, and stirring political unrest.

The Kogi politician reaffirmed her commitment to truth and responsible democratic engagement, revealing that her legal team and security agencies have been directed to trace the source of the alleged forgery and bring those responsible to justice.

“The general public is advised to treat the circulating video and audio as entirely false and misleading,” she said. “This is the work of desperate individuals intent on smearing the image of a law-abiding, peace-loving public servant.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan urged Nigerians to remain alert and resist what she called coordinated campaigns of digital impersonation and disinformation meant to incite political tension.
