ICAN Sokoto Installs Ganiyu Mustapha as 6th Chairman

The Sokoto State chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has officially installed Alhaji Ganiyu Mustapha as its sixth chairman.

The 61st President of ICAN, Malam Haruna Yahaya, who was represented by the Northern Zonal Chairman, Ibrahim Alkali, congratulated Mustapha and his team. He urged them to ensure that the impact of professional accountancy is felt across Sokoto State and beyond.

He noted that ICAN is committed to leveraging digital technology to improve its services and strengthen its influence within the accounting profession.

In his valedictory remarks, the outgoing chairman, Alhaji Ismaeel Sulaiman, highlighted key achievements under his leadership. These include human capital development initiatives, community intervention programs, and the registration of tutored centers in Sokoto and Birnin Kebbi.

Speakers at the event emphasized ICAN’s crucial role in promoting sound financial management and professional accountancy practices in Sokoto State and across Nigeria.

Alhaji Ganiyu Mustapha is now tasked with building on these achievements and exploring new strategies to enhance the chapter’s relevance and impact.
