Fire Guts Yinka Ayefele’s Radio Stations in Ibadan

Popular gospel singer and media entrepreneur, Yinka Ayefele, has been thrown into grief after a fire outbreak ravaged his radio stations, Fresh FM 105.9 and Blast FM 98.3, in Ibadan.

The incident, which occurred on Friday, August 15, 2025, destroyed critical sections of the stations, including the studios, newsroom, transmitter, server room, and other vital equipment.

Ayefele, who announced the tragedy via a Facebook post accompanied by a video of the blaze, later issued an official statement confirming the extent of the damage. He disclosed that attempts to put out the fire with in-house extinguishers failed before professional firefighters arrived due to the intensity of the inferno.

The management noted that the full extent of the loss is yet to be determined, as the cause of the fire remains unknown.

“We are deeply saddened to inform the public that the head office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge – Ibadan, was razed by a devastating fire incident. Despite our immediate efforts, the inferno consumed studios, offices, and equipment while operations were ongoing,” the statement read.

Ayefele and his management, however, expressed gratitude to well-meaning Nigerians who rallied to assist in battling the flames.
