Councillors representing electoral wards across Plateau State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have unanimously endorsed Governor Caleb Mutfwang for a second term in office.
The endorsement motion, moved by Alhaji Adamu Sale Hassen of Gangare Ward, Jos North LGA, and seconded by Hon. Noro Davou Dung of Ta-Hoss Ward, Riyom LGA, was overwhelmingly supported by all 299 PDP councillors in the state.
The councillors said their decision was based on the Governor’s achievements, people-centered policies, and leadership style that have impacted citizens positively.
In a statement by Bere Gyang, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the confidence shown in his leadership. He urged councillors to remain committed to grassroots representation, describing them as vital links between government and the people.
The Governor emphasized synergy between the executive and legislative arms, assuring continued government support. He also encouraged councillors to mobilize citizens for voter registration to strengthen Plateau’s political influence.
Chief of Staff Jeremiah Satmak commended the councillors for taking ownership of government projects and urged them to monitor contractors for quality delivery. Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Rt. Hon. Istifanus Mwansat, described the engagement with the 299 councillors as historic, stressing its role in deepening people-oriented governance.
The event was attended by top government officials, including the Secretary to the State Government, commissioners, special advisers, and leaders of the Nigerian Association of Councillors Forum.
